I could Need some Côte d'Azur right now

Whilst shopping

Loden to Tweed to cashmere (Lodenfrey, Polo RL, malo italy).
The elderly saleswoman said that she loved my classic style, which is only very rarely found today amongst younger chaps especially.
She once sold Lodenfrey in her shops and according to her its the only Shop in munich you still need to visit with its coats and jackets that are not produced anymore, being so durable and crafted with respectable effort. It is a pity the Lodenfrey company was sold to the italians.
Thats how I wait for the ladies, relaxed and warm in my three favorite cloth ever, just like sleeping under your favorite blanket, but not only in your bed but everywhere (like a hideaway-to-go).

Ps: Hankerchief looks almost like a Hermes-tie, but its Christian Dior

Loden again

Putthison did a double feature on Lodencoats (see first topic on their page right now).
They wrote it was the feature most commented on.
Wtf is going on?
I was posting about Loden prbly getting back in style in the next 5-10 yrs. But this early?
I bet the sartorialist'll post sth. in the next week with some hipster wearing nikes to loden (urgh).
I am a little startled to be honest since Loden for me was always very personaö and linked to my people here in the german Country amongst Landlords and Horsebreeders.
So of course It'll f€$£ me up if Loden would be worn by any Kind.
But I believe not all do have the balls to wear a 6kg heavy dark green rough and looong Lodencoat.
At least this is what I hope and expect.
My coat was shortened almost 15 centimeters (see picture) so o could wear it at night and to the Bank without getting arrested for looking like a rapist or murderer.

I love this coat. Try one dear fellows and chaps, you'll like it and since you read my stuff you'll be the right kind to wear it.

Also in the picture: Bally Loafers (12 degrees in Germania) and cashmere Christmas socks.

A merry Christmas

Dear chappettes, dear chaps,

for you all a merry Christmas with your family and friends!

Ps: @v.

woolrich arctic parka

currently I consider buying a new winter-parka.
I own alot of stuff, parkas, duffles, coats, but none of these babies.
they are rather expensive, but I beliebe they last a very long time.
nonetheless: every hipster around wears these with the furrrrr and stuff...
thats why I believe it may not be my ...kind.
youre help: is a sort of chap, that I believe my readers and I, are categorized to be, in the place to wear such things in blue, grey or green?
i mean, yes theyre practical and warm, but its a nouveau-riche brand, no tradition amd nothing...
what shall a chap do?
cheers

Horses

Most of my business clients find this tie rather inappropriate or funny. The nobility loves it and me, of course, I adore it!!

description savile row

Savile Row, my bespoke première Leslie&Roberts

I do now officially own a savile row bespoke 3-piece Tweed suit.
Okay, its not originally made for me, but hey, its from freakin 1975 and handmade. It feels like 5 kilograms and it has all the features we're looking for in a suit.
Regular readers did notice my affection towards Jeeves&Wooster, so yes, I look like Bertie Wooster at 95%, in fact I wouldnt be surprised to hear that this suit was made for Bertie.
Remember: 37 years and it looks like New!!!

Old languages, inspired by Jeeves&Wooster

Blithering
Toodle-pip
Tutt
Biff at s.o.
I say
What ho
and so many more.
Trying to integrate those words into my english.
Quite hard actually, but after hours of watching the series it starts to work.
Its hard to realize that 90% of todays languages, including all the old languages like the one of the eskimos, are a species thats about to be extinct. In the next 10 yrs. we will, after the opinion of several well-known scientists, have only 10% of todays languages left.
They did compare it to the extinction of mankind.
To countervail this loss I try to keep some parts of old languages alive.
There is "Plattdeutsch" in german, which is the language of my ansestors.
The language is built to develop a fun conversation and it sounds like it alot.
Keep your very own tradition alive, even if its hard work. Its absolutely worth it.
Just imagine you and youre closest chaps speaking a language when youre old, none of the younger generation can understand. What delight!
